Our aim is to provide you with the opportunity to combine a passion of painting with a relaxing stay in a fully-catered alpine chalet. Chalet Les Sapins is situated in the beautiful alpine village of Nancroix, which in the winter is the centre of the winter ski area Paradiski, but in the spring and summer finds itself in a tranquil valley on the edge of the Vanoise National Park.
This area lends itself perfectly with its combination of breathtaking views, rural buildings and wildlife all within metres of the chalet. We offer you the chance to spend time enjoying painting, drawing and taking in the scenery whilst we take care of you.
Whether you prefer four hour hikes up the mountain or a gentle walk round the village, the emphasis of your stay will be entirely up to you. Our experienced and professional staff will be there to make sure you are well looked after and get the most out of your holiday.

Our philosophy is to provide you with a high level of service in a warm friendly environment, allowing you to relax and concentrate on capturing some of the magic of the Alps. Hopefully resulting in a perfect memento of your holiday.

During your holiday we provide you with full board including wine, transfers to and from the airport, linen, towels and we also provide easels, stools, boards and a limited amount of basic materials.

Your food and drink during the week are included. For breakfast there will be a range of cereals, freshly home cooked bread, eggs, yoghurt and of course tea and coffee. Lunch will vary during the week in accordance with your activities, for example one day you might take a pack lunch to a secluded spot, another we will meet for a picnic and some days a barbeque will be cooked back at the chalet. Tea and cakes will be available in the afternoons, which should keep you going until dinner time. Dinner will be a three course meal, with a selection of cheeses to finish.
On the drinks front tea and coffee making facilities are available all day and there will be a selection of French wine for you to enjoy at any time. If you have any special food requirements please let us know when booking your holiday.

Not only will there be plenty of opportunities to paint the old rustic chalets and churches in Nancroix and surrounding villages, but to really take advantage of this area our recommended trails will allow you to find some of the most beautiful spots in the Alps. To increase your enjoyment of these walks we can organise for your equipment and lunch or even yourselves to be transported to the best painting sites. A typical week will include a number of morning walks in to the Vanoise National Park, providing you with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. A climb up to a secluded church where a picnic lunch will be enjoyed whilst taking in the view back down the valley.

A stroll across the other side of the valley allowing you to take full advantage of the light during different times of the day. Plenty of chances to sketch the local architecture and of course time to relax and finish off your paintings. For the less able or the plain lazy most of these sites are accessible in the company minibus so you won’t have to miss out. Non-painters are welcome as well, filling their time with walking, horse-riding, generally relaxing, taking in the scenery or even making use of the local tennis court.
